Vienna 2006
Private commission

What had been a private indoor swimming pool before, was to become a loft for a young woman. The strategy
for the space in the semi-basement was to keep it simple, but as high, as empty and as sun-lit as possible. With
reference to Adolf Loos´ American Bar the bathroom´s space was widened with a window-mirroring installation in
a space cladded with light stone walls. To keep it “empty”, elements are multi-functional, such as the door to the
steam bath which in reciprocity also closes the open shower space.
